Community Outreach


Habitat for Humanity San Francisco (HHSF) builds homes and hope in San Francisco and Marin. HHSF was founded in 1992 to provide a solution to San Francisco critical need for decent, safe and affordable housing. Since 1996 HHSF has built 29 homes in San Francisco, housing 65 adults and 89 children.

Kiddo! a non-profit public benefit corporation, has raised over $14 million for Mill Valley's public schools. Kiddo! currently funds art, music, drama, poetry, dance, library, and technology programs - programs that are available to every child in our K-8 schools.

Sustainable Marin is a community-building organization, acting as advocates of aggressive policies and practices to sustain our natural environmental assets; foster local economic independence; expand locally owned green businesses and jobs; and encourage mutual understanding, civic cooperation and social justice.Currently we have more than 200 members from Mill Valley, greater Mill Valley and other Marin communities on our e-mail list.

The Environmental Education Council of Marin (EECoM) works collaboratively to create a community that is knowledgeable about the environment, human health and well-being, and takes meaningful actions, both individually & collectively that lead to an ecologically sound environment and a healthy place to live and work for all people.

In the 1930's a few energetic Marin citizens formed what is now the Marin Conservation League. Starting with its work to have the County enact its first zoning ordinance, MCL has been in the forefront of efforts to protect Marin's natural areas and recreational assets.
